112 Days Later

I promise I will be a much more timely blog poster once we get internet in our apartment (hurry up August 1st)... Speaking of our apartment, we are all moved in! Mind you, all moved in means we have beds and a few cans of Spaghetti O’s. Our furniture is coming tomorrow and hopefully decorating will follow. Hopefully.

I really love our apartment.

I love the cute little windy street we drive to get there.

I love the pretty pink trees that I walk by to check our mail.

I love the little spanish-y archways leading to our door.

However, I do not love that those little pink trees have these little pink blossoms that we track all over our house and I continually think they are bugs.

I don’t love that our neighbors have little yippy dogs that bark every time you walk by the window.

And I really don’t love that our oven (we have so appropriately named Satan) cooks our food unrealistically fast. I mean, cookies in three minutes. No exaggeration.

...But hey, I guess you can’t have it all.

I am very excited about my new room. There is just something so exciting about decorating a new place, am I right? First things first, I painted one wall in my room purple. And let me just tell you, I love my purple wall. Probably too much. And now I am in search for the perfect purple-walled-room accessories.

Isn't the perfect bed for a purple wall?

I love this.

Definitely making a picture wall. Love.

I need this.

Obsessed with this ribbon wall. Maybe for a wall in my room?

As for my life as a new wedding planner, well, it is going great! I really think I am going to love my job. Not that I don’t already, but let’s just say my first wedding was one to remember. Ethiopian dancing, ethnic food, 200 extra surprise guests, police men, ruined tablecloths, packing flowers until 2am, and a second event cancellation. My boss has assured me this isn’t normal, and I am taking her word for it. What’s that phrase: baptized by fire? Well, that was definitely me last weekend. But surprisingly, I came to work the next day.

And actually enjoyed it.

Some of my Abilene BFF’s are coming to Big D for the weekend and I am almost beside myself with excitement! That’s it for now. Stay tuned for the weekend recap.

The First One

Well, here I go. Starting a blog. We all know that there is this secret unwritten rule that every young adult making a change in his/her life has to do one thing: start a blog. So here's a big fat check off my to-do list. It's kind of arrogant to think that anyone cares about reading about my life and adventures, but here's to hoping I have at least one follower (thanks in advance mom). As of today, I am officially a Dallas resident. Woo. But I think in order for this to be an accurate portrayal of my adventures, I need to recap my last year.

I started off celebrating the start of my senior year and my 22nd birthday with these loves.

Rushing and pledging took over my life...in a good way

I watched my BFF become the Queen of TLU...

Spent some time with some great friends...

Then, there was snow week...

And of course, Sing Song...

Went on the BEST roadtrip ever to Nashville...

My roommate Tamrah got engaged!!

Then McVey got engaged....

And then Megan got engaged!!

I got to see all my friends look pretty...

Spent a lot of time with this crew...

And then I graduated...

I had some pretty fun adventures during my last summer in Abilene...

And now, I am here. A Dallasite. I'm moving into my apartment, or apartyment as my future roommates like to call it, next weekend. Speaking of my future roommates, this is them. Emily and Ashley. Twins, right?

I'm sure after I live with them for a while, people will be calling us triplets. We'll see.

Today also marks the first day of my first ever big girl job! I am working for the cutest little wedding planning company called After Yes Weddings (afteryesweddings.com) :) I can already tell I am going to absolutely love it there.

So now that I have successfully posted the longest blog entry in the history of blogging, I am off get caught up on some excellent trashy reality tv I have fallen behind on watching. Sounds like heaven to me. Until next time!
