112 Days Later

I promise I will be a much more timely blog poster once we get internet in our apartment (hurry up August 1st)... Speaking of our apartment, we are all moved in! Mind you, all moved in means we have beds and a few cans of Spaghetti O’s. Our furniture is coming tomorrow and hopefully decorating will follow. Hopefully.

I really love our apartment.

I love the cute little windy street we drive to get there.

I love the pretty pink trees that I walk by to check our mail.

I love the little spanish-y archways leading to our door.

However, I do not love that those little pink trees have these little pink blossoms that we track all over our house and I continually think they are bugs.

I don’t love that our neighbors have little yippy dogs that bark every time you walk by the window.

And I really don’t love that our oven (we have so appropriately named Satan) cooks our food unrealistically fast. I mean, cookies in three minutes. No exaggeration.

...But hey, I guess you can’t have it all.

I am very excited about my new room. There is just something so exciting about decorating a new place, am I right? First things first, I painted one wall in my room purple. And let me just tell you, I love my purple wall. Probably too much. And now I am in search for the perfect purple-walled-room accessories.

Isn't the perfect bed for a purple wall?

I love this.

Definitely making a picture wall. Love.

I need this.

Obsessed with this ribbon wall. Maybe for a wall in my room?

As for my life as a new wedding planner, well, it is going great! I really think I am going to love my job. Not that I don’t already, but let’s just say my first wedding was one to remember. Ethiopian dancing, ethnic food, 200 extra surprise guests, police men, ruined tablecloths, packing flowers until 2am, and a second event cancellation. My boss has assured me this isn’t normal, and I am taking her word for it. What’s that phrase: baptized by fire? Well, that was definitely me last weekend. But surprisingly, I came to work the next day.

And actually enjoyed it.

Some of my Abilene BFF’s are coming to Big D for the weekend and I am almost beside myself with excitement! That’s it for now. Stay tuned for the weekend recap.
