USA! USA! USA!

THE OLYMPICS ARE UPON US! Okay, they are basically over now, but you better believe that is all I have been watching for the last two weeks. I love the Olympics! And I am obsessed with women's gymnastics. Let me give you the back story...

When the US Women's Gymnastics team won the gold medal in the 1996 Olympics, I was glued to the TV. Of course, I was only 8 years old, but I was fascinated by everything about the "Magnificent Seven!"

After the Olympics were over, they released a highlights VHS and I begged my parents to buy it for me. Little did they know, I would go on to watch this video EVERY single night for about TWO years. Y'all, I wasn't kidding when I said I was obsessed. (I could probably still recite it to you verbatim).

So, with all the buzz about the gymnastics team this year, I followed it closely from Worlds, to trials, all the way up until they WON THE GOLD METAL!!!!

I was SO excited for little Gabby and co! Honestly, Kyla was my favorite going into the Olympics. As the youngest on the team, she totally came through for USA! And Aly and McKayla were fabulous as well! Totally loved cheering on the Fab Five!

Also, I am soooo in love with Michael Phelps and Kerri & Misty!

I'm sad to see the Olympics go...it's been so much fun cheering for USA :)

An Overload of Summer Activities

This summer has been pretty great, if I do say so myself. Here is an iPhone update of what I have been up to.

After church one night, we saw Sean from the Bachelorette! After a mini-anxiety attack, we asked for a picture. He was so nice!

Dinner with a few of my favs! Love having our little sister in Dal.

So, good news: our friend Bryan got a new job! Sad news: it's in Oklahoma City! To send our friends off in style, we threw Bryan and Jill a cowboys and indians themed going away party!

After the party, we watched the last game of the Thunder/Heat series (so appropriate, right?!). Sadly, the Thunder lost, but we had fun cheering on OKC!

Miss you guys!

At the end of June, my roommates and I made a day-trip to Austin to celebrate the wedding of Megan and James! Megan was my Bid Night Buddy during pledging, and I am so thankful for her friendship.

Love you Mrs. Keeton!

I was reunited with one of my college roommates! Laura lives in New York, but took a couple weeks off work to visit her family and boyfriend, Will, in Texas! It was so good to see her.

For my mom's birthday in February, I got us tickets to see Jersey Boys in Dallas! I didn't know much about the show before I bought the tickets, but I was still excited to spend the day with my momma. We started the weekend off with our favorite treat: Sprinkles cupcakes!!

The show was SO good, and really funny! But I really love any time I get to spend with my sweet momma!

For my first Fourth of July in Dallas, my friends and I went to Kaboom Town in Addison. It was such a fun ordeal--they had booths, tents and activities set up, I thought I was at the fair. The place was PACKED, but we had fun walking around and listening to the concert. The fireworks, on the other hand, were sub-par. Not to mention, we were stuck in the parking garage for over two hours trying to get home. Not. Worth. It. We did get some pics, though!

What better lunch to have on July 4th than hotdogs and onion rings?!

On July 11th, I said goodbye to the Apartyment and started a new adventure with Emily! Packing and moving still sucks, but I'm excited about a new adventure with my bestie :)

Sweet Julieanne was married on July 14th, and I absolutely loved being a part of this sweet celebration. Everyone in both families is SO thoughtful, helpful and appreciative. They are truly a special group of people. AND Julie was absolutely stunning! So happy for you!

My friends and I really wanted to take a mini vacay this summer, so Emily put together a fun weekend at the lake! It was SO much fun, and so needed. I don't think I put on makeup the entire trip--just relaxed in the water and had so much fun with my friends.

I'm thinking this needs to become an annual thing...

We threw a little goodbye party for our friend Clint who is moving to Alaska! We'll Moose You, Clint!

My sweet friend McVey came into town last weekend, and we enjoyed a late night of girl talk and fro yo, followed by a fabulous Saturday brunch at Breadwinners and an afternoon at the pool!

Love time with these two!

I celebrated the 50th wedding anniversary for a couple of my favorite people. Peggy & her husbaand Randy (also known as Meme and Mr. Randy) started babysitting me when I was just 6 weeks old. I was Meme's first baby to keep, and after having 4 sons of her own, I was the daughter she never had. We were very special to each other, since I never met either of my grandmothers. Meme and I have a special bond (I was even the flower girl in her son's wedding!) so when she had an anniversary celebration, I knew I had to be there.

You all are so special to me. Love you all like family!

Just because we couldn't get enough American spirit, we enjoyed a night at the Ballpark followed by a fireworks show! Blew Kaboom town out of the water :)

 Classic Rangers picture!

Now, I am kind of wishing summers lasted much, much longer.
